We currently have a vacancy for a full time/part-time clinical psychologist. The successful applicant will be working in a multidisciplinary team within the Child Development Centre (CDC). The CDC provides multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention for tamariki aged 0 – 19 years with developmental disabilities. The psychologists within CDC carry out diagnostic assessments with children and young adolescents with developmental disabilities.
There is also an opportunity as part of this role, to work at Gateway working in a team with paediatricians to provide assessment of children’s health, developmental needs, mental health, trauma, emotional and education needs. From the assessment, a multi-agency agreement is decided on with health, health and Oranga Tamariki services.
The position would ideally suit a clinical psychologist with experience in the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and other common neurodevelopmental conditions. The role would include working two days at Gateway working with paediatricians to provide assessment of children’s health, developmental needs, mental health, trauma, emotion and education needs; consideration may be given for part-time position to work in Gateway also. Proficiency in the administration and interpretation of psychometric instruments would be an advantage. Excellent written communication skills are required as assessment report writing is a key part of the role.
