The details: Permanent full and part-time positions available
Our RNAA programme at Waikato DHB is aimed at registered nurses seeking opportunities to work alongside an anaesthetist within their scope of practice while training and still meet all the requirements of the NZNC.
About the role:
We currently have the opportunity to build on our RNAA workforce within the Anaesthetic Technician Team and we are excited to develop more Registered Nurses who are looking at the next step in their career.
As an RN your development will be guided by a comprehensive competency based learning framework aligned with the Australian New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA). This includes a formal process to recognise your prior competence.
The programme is presented in a ‘blended delivery’ format including clinical practice based learning & clinical supervision supported by online learning activities. Clinical competence will be formally assessed throughout the programme and successful completion of the final clinical exam is a requirement for all RN participants.
To be able to be considered to join our training programme you will need:
• 5+ years’ experience post registration at a minimum
• Experience in Critical Care and Perioperative Nursing (essential)
• Ability to complete the 12 month Training Programme within the required time frame
• Current practising Certificate and registration with NZ Nursing Council • At least 3 years’ experience working in a NZ DHB and/or Large Private Surgical Hospitals (essential)
• Must be able to work in a rotating roster that will include Days, Nights, Weekends and PM shifts (not negotiable).
• Be a team player, be adaptable and flexible as well as no day is the same.
These opportunities don’t come around to often so if you have ever thought of developing your perioperative/critical care nursing practice then this might be the perfect opportunity for you!
