Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to join our Tokoroa based physiotherapy team who cover in-patients, outpatients and community. The community aspect includes delivery of the early support discharge programme through the START service and the ACC In Home Strength and Balance programme which is targeted at preventing falls in the elderly. The position is ideal for a physiotherapist who is keen to advance their career with the support and enthusiasm of a close knit team. The role requires the successful applicant to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs and to have a genuine passion for working with patients and their whanau on their health journey.

The Physiotherapy service has approximately 90 staff including Physiotherapists, assistants and administrators that work across the large geographical area that is Waikato region. We have staff based at Waikato Hospital, our secondary hospital in Thames and our three rural hospitals in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui and across our many community bases in areas such as Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngaruawahia.
Our vision is to provide quality physiotherapy care to promote, encourage and enable health, wellbeing and independence for the patients and whanau in the communities we serve. Our mission is to ensure that patients receive excellence of care, that our staff are supported and trained to work and maintain levels of evidence based practice and that our service is equitable, efficient and effective in order to meet the needs of our patients and their whanau. Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
NZ Physiotherapy registration and a current annual practicing certificate
Current valid full New Zealand drivers licence
You will have a passion for learning, be adaptable to change and be eager to gain clinical experience across a variety of clinical areas
You will need the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the physiotherapy and wider multi-disciplinary team across a variety of environments
You will have excellent communication skills in order to effectively liaise with patients, their Whanau and other health care professionals
