TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the General Manager Clinical Services the CNS: Medicine Management, Vascular Access & IV Therapy role, is a part of our Senior Nursing Team and will:
- develop and coordinate medicine management, vascular access and infusion therapy services and competencies across the organisation
- provide expert advice and education to nursing staff and other health care professionals as well as patients and their family / whānau within scope of specialty practice
- ensure Medicine Management related programmes are based on and developed in conjunction with relevant national standards and best practice guidelines
- assess and manage organisational risk in relation to medicine management and ensue quality improvement activities are implemented
Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Advising and implementing best practice against nationally recognised standards
- Lead and develop structured learning with quality results
- work in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to improve access to medicine management related education, products, and advice to maintain a consistent high standard of best practice.
- To be proactive within areas of responsibility to mitigate medicine management, vascular access and IV therapy accidents events
- Educating, coaching and supporting people to deliver high performance

KO KOE TĒNEI | ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have a track record at a senior nursing level for delivering results with a professional workforce. A minimum of five years previous experience as a Registered Nurse in a surgical setting is essential.
- hold a post graduate certificate/diploma in adult teaching and can demonstrate advanced skills in adult education, clinical development, coordination and evaluation of training programmes
- able to prove your recent experience in assessment of medicine management, vascular access and IV therapy practices in a clinical setting
- ability to conduct learning needs, develop and lead educational interventions applying evidence-based practice principles and adult learning framework
- you hold a current nursing portfolio at expert level or above as assessed via an approved Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP)
- Excellent report writing skill set, and good attention to detail
- Team orientated, with strong interpersonal skills, confident in leading a committee
- You are committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
