Physiotherapist - Rotational

Where you’ll be working: Waikato Hospital, Allied Health
The details: Permanent – 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic physiotherapy team as a full time rotational physiotherapist. Our rotational positions are ideal for someone keen to experience hospital based physiotherapy and develop skills in a wide range of clinical areas.
We are an exciting, large department offering a unique opportunity to develop your physiotherapy skills and to work in a team setting. This position involves all aspects of physiotherapy practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with opportunities to experience specialty areas as well. We offer peer review, supervision, continuing education and professional development, comprehensive online information and excellent library facilities.
Some rotations include weekends and a different work pattern.
About you
• You will have (or be working towards) NZ Physiotherapy registration and a current annual practicing certificate
• You will have a passion for learning, be adaptable to change and be eager to gain clinical experience across a variety of clinical areas
• You will need the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the physiotherapy and wider multi-disciplinary team across a variety of environments
• You will have excellent communication skills in order to effectively liaise with patients, their Whanau and other health care professionals
COVID-19:
The Waikato District Health Board Health & Safety has a policy that includes ensuring that you comply with the Health Order announced 11 October 2021 and with the Waikato DHB’s Vaccine Preventable Diseases for Employees policy. The policy prescribes the required vaccinations including COVID19 for all employees of Waikato DHB. COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory before you commence employment.
About the Physiotherapy service
The Physiotherapy service has approximately 90 staff including Physiotherapists, assistants and administrators that work across the large geographical area that is Waikato DHB. We have staff based at Waikato Hospital, our secondary hospital in Thames and our 3 rural hospitals in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumaranui and across our many community bases in areas such as Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngaruawahia.

Our mission is to ensure that patients receive excellence of care, that our staff are supported and trained to work and maintain levels of evidence based practice and that our service is equitable, efficient and effective in order to meet the needs of our patients and their Whanau. We pride ourselves on being a friendly, supportive team who are keen to grow and develop our staff.
