The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We're looking for an inspirational leader to join our Real service as a Team Coach. You will lead a youth focused team to provide specialist support for up to four taiohi and you will work closely with Oranga Tamariki.
It is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. You will also be part of the rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.
As a Team Coach, you will be part of the local leadership team, attend regular meetings and Team Coach trainings. This role reports to the Service and Relationship Manager, who will facilitate a robust induction and provide ongoing support.
- Inspire a team of passionate Youth workers to deliver a service of excellence
- Lead a four-bed service providing short-stay for taiohi aged 12-17 years
- Influence the therapeutic programme for taiohi offered in a homelike environment
- Play a key role in the planning and support of taiohi and whānau in the whare
- Partner with Oranga Tamariki and other agencies to support positive outcomes for taiohi and whānau
You | Mōu
You will have clinical experience in working in adolescent mental health and addiction. You will also be an experienced leader, able to unite and motivate a team through your positive energy. You'll be positive, energetic, organised and a great communicator.
As well as having great leadership and people skills and be able to demonstrate your ability to work well with other services such as DHBs, PHOs, and the wider community and social sector to implement personalised plans.
You will have:
- A current New Zealand Health registration.
- Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- De-escalation skills.
- A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- An understanding of what you need for your own wellbeing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with funders and stakeholders.
- A demonstrated ability and cultural competence in working with Māori.
The Team
Together as one team you will support the taiohi in a home environment to develop life skills and resilience, provide support with practical problem solving and daily life skills, supporting community connection and liaising with relevant support services, family/whānau and other providers to provide “whatever it takes and keeping it REAL” for the taiohi we support in order to grow and identify their purpose and belonging in our community so they have the opportunity to thrive.
