About the Role
The Ophthalmology Receptionist & Administrator position will provide friendly, efficient and professional reception service and booking support to Ophthalmology Admin Service.
This is a busy patient-facing role in a high-volume department and requires someone with excellent people skills, an ability to multi-task and customer service experience. You will work as part of a three-person admin team at Southland Hospital and need to have a good attention to detail and telephone skills
This role will:
- Providing reception and front counter service
- Preparing patient files and documentation for clinics
- Booking patients and outcoming clinics as required

About you
We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people and tasks, often all at the same time!
Our successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a busy administrator role
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Excellent typing and keyboard skills
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the Admin Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the Band 4A Administration Scale, between $70,970 and $73,941 p.a dependent on relevant experience.
