About our department
Here at Southland Hospital we value the care we offer mothers, babies and whanau/families in our maternity centre. Our brand of care and compassion involves a very special blend of strength, compassion and cool headedness from our midwives who welcome our babies into the world.
About the role
We birth around 1200 babies every year and work very closely together with the LMC's to ensure that both mother and baby get the level and types of care that they deserve. We are currently looking for experienced midwives who have an exceptional commitment to quality care, who embody the Te Whatu Ora values in all that you do. Our team covers a variety of rostered shifts.
About you
You will be using your valuable midwifery experience to provide exceptional care, support and guidance to our new mother and of course babies as they set out on together in their new journey.
As a Registered Midwife you will have an interest in joining a team where integrity, honesty and a great sense of humour counts, we look forward to hearing from you if you also:
- Possess excellent assessment skills
- Have a passion and focus for working with families/whanau with compassion and kindness
- Be an exceptional team player who has strong communication skills
- previous experience in supporting mothers with breastfeeding
- Be a Registered Midwife with a current APC for New Zealand, or be eligible to gain registration
