Salary range $50k - $60k
Based at Southland Hospital
- Permanent, full-time position (1.0 FTE 40 hours per week)
- Supporting our electrical team in maintaining the hospital

About the opportunity
Our Facilities and Property team have a fantastic opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join the team and support our electricians at Southland Hospital. You'll be part of a team that keeps the lights on, keeps the hospital running, and maintains life-saving medical equipment, as well as supporting energy reduction projects as we move towards a carbon zero future.
A challenging, yet rewarding role, you will work alongside our electrical team to support a range of work, from portable appliance testing, changing lights, and moving plug sockets, to maintaining more specialist medical equipment. As a part of Facilities and Property, you'll help improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience working in a trades role
- An understanding of electrical work
- Knowledge of the healthcare environment would be hugely beneficial
And most importantly, you'll have a positive and helpful attitude, ready to get stuck in and help out any way you can. You'll be able to build and maintain solid working relationships with a broad range of people from industry experts to management and clinical staff. You will also have good time management skills, and great customer service skills.
