We have an exciting and sought-after position for a new or recent graduate physiotherapist at Southland Hospital.

Our team

Our Physiotherapy team is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual who can think outside of the square and has a hunger to learn. This service will give you the opportunity to build knowledge within a broad range of physiotherapy services, treatments and care techniques. The team provides a supportive and encouraging environment, for you to develop your career and grow as Physiotherapist. We engage in team building and idea sharing opportunities to build positive connections with the team.

Rotations

The rotational programme at Southland Hospital comprises six-monthly rotations in areas including; acute inpatient services (medical, surgical and orthopaedics), rehabilitation inpatients (AT&R), musculoskeletal and general outpatients (including hydrotherapy and groups), and community. With the potential to cross-over and do some rotations in Dunedin Hospital as well.

About the role - What's in it for me?

We take pride in supporting our staff to grow as clinicians so we run a well-developed on-going support and professional development programme, which will nurture you to evolve into a capable and confident physiotherapist. The rotational programme includes regular in-service training, senior staff mentoring, an inter-professional learning programme and support network, peer-review, a comprehensive on-call competency-training framework, and access to course and conference funding.

We are looking for enthusiastic; team-players who are keen grow their knowledge and skills across the range of clinical areas offered within Southern DHB. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach towards learning are essential.

To be considered for this role you will need to, or be able to, obtain registration with the New Zealand Physiotherapy Board and gain a current Annual Practicing Certificate. You will be computer literate with strong attention to detail. You must hold a full, clean drivers licence.
