Sterile Services Technician

About the role
You will become part of an experienced, high quality, driven, supportive team who are all trained in this specialised profession. This role is like no other, it is both physically and mentally demanding, you're required to complete complex tasks that require high levels of concentration, undertake manual, dexterous work, and operate a broad range of equipment.
You will be required to work rotating, rostered shifts including weekends and evenings.
About the Team/Service/Location
We are a team of patient focused, dedicated professionals who are responsible for the reprocessing and distribution of reusable medical devices (RMD) used surgical and diagnostic procedures in our operating theatre and other clinical areas. The role involves a series of complex interrelated processes that include decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation of all RMD to a high standard following established department procedures, best practice, and compliance standards.
About you
Our ideal applicant will have either a certificate in sterilising technology or equivalent, plus work-related health experience. However, on the job training is provided and you must be willing to enroll and attain the certificate in sterilising technology in a prescribed timeframe (two years from appointment).
This isn't just 'a job'. This is a role where the very small things that you do, matter greatly.
