About the role
This role is an opportunity to work with patients who have a mental illness in a community setting. The successful candidate may be required to contribute to the on-call roster supporting the Southern Rivers Community Mental Health Team crisis service should the need arise. You will receive specialist Duly Authorised Officer (Mental Health Act 1992 and amendments) training. Remuneration for these duties is in addition to your salary as a Registered Nurse.

About you
Our ideal candidate will:
- have previously demonstrated a commitment to best practice standards and your model of practice
- be inclusive of the seven Real Skills of Let's get real (www.tepou.co.nz)
- have a strong sense of 'self', a positive 'can do' attitude, along with a commitment to working cohesively in a large and dynamic multidisciplinary team
- be a Registered Nurse with a current APC and a scope for practice in Mental Health
- hold a current full New Zealand driver's licence
- be competent with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- have experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO/Te Whatu Ora and the salary will be in accordance with the Registered Nurse Scale, between Step 2 - $81,683 p.a and Step 7 - $106,739 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
