He aha te tūranga - About the role:
This senior leadership role with Emergency Ambulance Services leads, manages and coordinates the effective delivery of operational activity across the Southland / Otago District. You will be responsible for planning and managing resources to ensure the achievement of operational objectives and contractual requirements and to ensure the best possible outcome for our patients.
With a strong people focus, you will provide passionate and visible leadership to your team of paid and volunteer staff across the district. Stakeholder management is also key, and a major part of the role will be to build and maintain strong relationships with external parties.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead one of the largest Emergency Ambulance Operations districts in New Zealand, to build on a values-based culture and truly empower a high performing and committed team.
We are open to the role being based anywhere in the Southland or Otago districts.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
- Proven experience with strategic management and operational planning with the ability to translate strategic goals into achievable operational plans.
- Business planning and performance management skills
- In depth knowledge of the challenges facing the health sector, ideally with a clinical background and experience in pre-hospital emergency care or Emergency Services is preferred.
- Strong project management and business improvement skills, effectively setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Solutions-focussed and forward thinking
- A proven track record of initiating and embedding effective change as St John evolves to meet the demands and requirements of the changing health environment
- A team leader who values collaboration and builds constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Demonstrated and successful financial management
- Critical reasoning with effective problem-solving skills
