Clinical Psychologist - Consultant Liaison

The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry team are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist here at Dunedin Hospital to join our multi-disciplinary team to provide a wide range of psychological services.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
The role of the Clinical Psychologist in the Liaison Psychiatry team is to provide psychological support services for adults experiencing psychological distress in the context of physical health difficulties.
The Clinical Psychologist will work closely with the Liaison Psychiatry team and will have key relationships with specialist medicine services. This includes Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, and Respiratory services. The Psychologist will work closely with both patients, their family/whanau and other health practitioners to provide advanced level assessment, intervention, and treatment of their health-related difficulties. As part of the role, you will work closely with various health professionals and organisations.

Candidates should be knowledgeable and experienced in working with complex needs clients and able to demonstrate excellent assessment, formulation, treatment planning and therapy skills. You will be a confident and effective communicator, bring a flexible approach with excellent organisational skills, be passionate about your work and hold an unwavering belief in people's resilience in face of often unfavourable life crisis. You will also be a strong supportive team player and be proactive in the multidisciplinary team.
Candidates will have a Doctoral or master's degree plus a Post-Graduate Diploma of Clinical Psychology or equivalent and ideally will have a minimum of 3 years' experience. You will need to be a registered Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board, as well as hold a current APC.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHB/PSA Collective Agreement and falls between step three ($79,709 p.a. pro-rata) and step ten ($108,058 p.a. pro-rata) of the Psychologists Salary Scale.
