Clinical Nurse Specialist - Infection Prevention and Control

Salary range: $101,000p.a. pro-rata to $111,000 p.a. pro-rata and Kiwisaver

- 0.6FTE - Wednesday to Friday (8am - 4.30pm)
The Infection Prevention and Control Service (IPC) is a district-wide service with the primary role of monitoring and reducing the risk of infections acquired in hospitals and other healthcare settings. Mō te tūranga - About the role
In the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be providing specialist nursing care and expert advice to support staff in the management of care delivery for Infection Prevention and Control within a variety of settings including Hospital, other public health settings and Aged Residential Care (ARC),
The main responsibilities of your role will include (but are not limited to):
- preparing for and responding to newly emerging viral infections within the hospital and ARC community
- working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- providing specialist, evidence-based advice, care, support, and expertise
- providing education and support for all staff on all aspects of the Infection Prevention and Control programme
- modelling expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education
- supporting the implementation of Nga Parewa Health and Disability services standard (NZS 8134:2021) part five: Infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship
- active involvement in quality improvement initiatives that improve the care of patients.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between grade two, step one ($101,089 p.a. pro-rata) and grade two, step three ($111,695) p.a. pro-rata of the Senior Nurse Salary Scale.
