Salary Band – $95,576 to $106,016 p.a prorata + Kiwisaver

The position requires you to deliver the programme in partnership with the University of Auckland as the programme content includes the completion of a PGCert in Health Sciences.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
The primary purpose of the role is to support newly registered nurses to undertake the programme, which includes a PGCert in Health Sciences and in addition, assist them to develop their clinical and therapeutic skills within a clinical environment.
You will work independently but alongside a collegial team of mental health educators and the nursing team at the University of Auckland. It is necessary to maintain key relationships with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff both internal and external to Te Whatu Ora Southern and are involved in the delivery of mental health, addiction and intellectual disability services.
Mōu ake | About you
You will be an experienced New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate and have completed post graduate education in mental health or be on the Master pathway. Must be a Registered Nurse with current APC with intermediate/advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must hold a current Portfolio (PDRP) and be a trained PDRP assessor or willing to complete this training.
You will have excellent communication skills with a positive and problem solving attitude. You will have a passion for working with and developing new nurses to become confident practitioners within a range of mental health environments. The need to be flexible in providing pastoral support to the graduates will assist them to complete the programme within the University time frames.
The need to have a sensitivity and awareness of cultural and sexuality difference and to be committed to supporting the implementation of service user recovery principles is essential.
