About the team

Emergency Psychiatric Services (EPS) provide a 24/7 urgent triage and crisis assessment service in a variety of locations for people experiencing mental health issues.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a registered nurse with recent experience working in mental health you will be able to put your knowledge and skills to good use assisting the team to provide emergency mental health assessments.

This is an exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity to become part of the team at the Emergency Psychiatric Service to cover a period of parental leave. Some acute ward experience or community crisis experience would be preferable for this position.

The successful candidate will be a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) or you will receive specialist Duly Authorised Officer (Mental Health Act 1992 and amendments) training. Remuneration is in addition to base salary.

All employees of the Southern region work with in mental health and addiction services are expected to demonstrate a commitment to “The Seven Real Skills” (Te Pou Workforce Development, see www.tepou.co.nz/letsgetreal)

You must be Registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council, hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate which allows you to work in mental health and be eligible to live and work in New Zealand.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the DHBs/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 2 ($64,291 p.a) and Step 8 ($88,757 p.a pro rata).
