A brand-new state of the art, purpose-built Eye Unit is set to open in Dunedin in November, and we are looking for a Theatre Nurse to join the team on a part-time permanent basis.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
Our new Eye Unit will provide eye surgery and other minor procedures and is committed to delivering exceptional ophthalmic care to patients within the region.
You will work closely with the Consultant Ophthalmologist and other team members within the multi-disciplinary team to provide outstanding patient care in the theatre suite. Therefore, it is an absolute requirement that you can demonstrate working as part of a small, successful team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their theatre career in an Ophthalmology environment. This an attractive opportunity for a Registered Nurse looking for their next move to use brand-new state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and facilities.
This role is a 32 hour per week role Monday to Friday between the hours of 0700 and 1800.

To be successful in this role we are looking for nurses with the following:
- A minimum of two years post registration practice experience in theatre nursing, Ophthalmic experience would be advantageous
- New Zealand Registration and eligibility to live and work in New Zealand
- High levels of initiative, enthusiasm and adaptability
- A calm, patient focused approach
- A proactive approach towards professional development
- A willingness to promote and champion quality initiatives
You will bring a passion for high standards, and excellent communication skills. You are a focused, flexible, and motivated team worker.
