- Salary scale - $72,074 - $86,719 p.a for full-time, Kiwisaver and on-site employee gym
- Part-time, fixed-term (0.5 FTE), 20 hours per week opportunity until March 2025
Mō te tūranga - About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our Allied Health team at Dunedin Hospital Child Development Service. We are seeking a motivated and personable individual to work alongside Allied Health clinicians across the outpatient and community settings in supporting children, young people and their whānau with their therapy goals. The service sees children and young people aged 0-16 years of age with complex needs. The Allied health team you will be working with consists of Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational therapists.

We are looking for a proactive individual with experience working with children, young people, ages 0-16 and their whānau. A positive and inclusive attitude to disability and diversity with a bicultural lens is essential. You will be physically capable as the role requires some lifting and speed to manage active children and equipment.

To be successful in this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following:
- An outgoing and friendly manner and being comfortable interacting with clients and their whānau both in person and on the phone
- Ability to run groups and communicate with groups
- Positive team worker and a willingness to learn new skills
- Be adept at using your initiative
- Good grounding in basic computer skills
- You understand and can demonstrate clear boundaries with regards to all aspects of privacy
You will need to be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients and their whānau within a changing health environment.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHB/PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, non degree salary Scale – Group B and falls between Step 3 ($72,074 p.a pro rata) and Step 7 ($86,719 p.a pro rata)
