Start your journey with Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau - right now we are looking for Psychiatry Registrars to join our team to make a quota of 8 Registrars from January 2023.

Northland covers the northern most part of New Zealand, encompassing an area of 12,600 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 194,000. As a region Northland is renowned for its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle.
Whangarei is the largest population centre and Whangarei hospital is the largest hospital in Northland, providing secondary care services for the province, supported by three regional hospitals. This is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including ED, medical specialties, ICU, ENT, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry.
Whangarei is part of the Northern Region Psychiatry Training Programme.
Whangarei has had considerable success in providing comprehensive training to Registrars enabling them to gain Fellowship of the RANZCP. The Whangarei psychiatry programme offers runs in acute inpatient psychiatry, community adult psychiatry, Māori mental health, rural psychiatry, child and youth mental health, liaison psychiatry and psychiatry for older adults.
There is excellent consultant support and access to regular local teaching and participation in teaching through the Northern Region training scheme.
