Consultant Psychiatrist - Regional Dual Disability Services (RDDS)

About the Role
Health New Zealand's Te Tai Tokerau and Counties Manakau districts are working in partnership to enhance the Regional Dual Disability Service (RDDS) which serves the Greater Auckland and Northland regions. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to recruit additional team members including a Consultant Psychiatrist to work with New Zealand's most culturally diverse populations.
The RDDS team works as one regional service and pathway following a hub and spoke model, with the hub based in Counties Manakau and a spoke team based in Te Tai Tokerau. This position will align to one or the other base team.
Our current dedicated and experienced RDDS Consultant is based in Counties Manukau and travels regularly to support the Northland region.
RDDS is a regional specialist team, covering the wider Auckland and Northland Districts. We offer a comprehensive service including assessment, intervention, and consultation for adult clients with both a psychiatric disorder and significant intellectual disability. Clients accessing our services generally have diverse and complex needs including Autism, physical health conditions, and in particular complex Epilepsy.
This is an excellent opportunity to utilise or enhance your specialist skills or interest in dual disabilities and further develop your clinical expertise alongside a great.

About you
To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in a Psychiatry Vocational scope of practice.
FRANZCP and/ or post graduate qualifications are desirable, however happy to hear from those near completion of their studies etc.
If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.
