  • A role with a difference

Are you an experienced Driver (Class 2 licence) with excellent customer service skills looking for a role with a difference?

About New Zealand Blood Service

New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) is in the business of saving lives. Every year, tens of thousands of generous people donate their time, blood and plasma to us for free. Hospitals around New Zealand use the products made from these donations. Every day our blood and plasma products save the lives of people with a wide variety of conditions; from accident victims to auto-immune disease sufferers to cancer patients. Our shared values are at the heart of our organisation's culture and guide our behaviour each and every day. They inspire us, motivate us and drive us to provide the very best service to the New Zealand public.

About the role

Working as part of our blood collections team, this is a unique role involving the safe transportation of staff, donors and products to and from collection venues around the lower part of the north island including Palmerston North, Masterton and Wellington. You will also play an integral part of the busy mobile team in a customer facing role registering our mobile blood drive donors and other administration tasks related to the donation process. These blood collection drives take place in schools, universities, businesses and community venues.

About you

To be successful in this role, you are required to hold a Class 2 Drivers Licence.  It is essential you are skilled at reversing and manoeuvring a Mercedes-Benz 419 long wheelbase high roof ten seater van with a 4 metre tandem axle covered trailer unit attached. Experience dealing with customers on the front-line, being physically fit to load and unload mobile blood collection equipment and have basic computer skills is a must. Your flexibility to work varying hours and staying out of town up to 4 nights at a time once per month is also a consideration.

If you genuinely enjoy meeting a wide range of people and have excellent customer service skills, then we would like to hear from you now.

Come and make a difference with NZBS.
