The Opportunity
Psychiatry experience with opportunities for training.
A role where you will assess mental and physical states of patients, provide preliminary diagnoses and treatments, and contribute to the development of comprehensive mental health services across facilities whilst collaborating closely with a psychiatrist.
A total of 9 RMOs share the afterhours.
Construction of a new purpose-built facility commend in February 2023. The new unit will have 28 beds plus 2 room for those needing a short-term stay with provision for 4-8 beds to be added at a later stage.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz.
- Keen interest in psychiatry
- Empathy and sensitivity to support patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
