Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
The Opportunity
A new interventional cardiology service is being established at Palmerston North Hospital. As part of this expansion of services, we have exciting new opportunities, for Medical Imaging Technologists, who are trained in Cardiac Catheterisation. Training in Interventional Radiography would be an asset.
A mix of permanent full and part time roles are available, up to a combination of 1.5FTE. The roles will be based in the Medical Imaging and will provide diagnostic, interventional, and special procedure imaging within the Medical Imaging and Cardiac Catheterisation lab.
The hours are aligned to the special procedures roster and will be predominantly between the hours of 0700 and 1800, with the inclusion of weekday and weekend on call. As the interventional cardiac service develops the role will be flexible to support demand.
About the role
You will be working alongside other like-minded team members including Medical Imaging Technologists (MIT), Registered Nurses (RN), Radiologists, Cardiologists, and other specialised team members.
We are looking for a MIT with recent experience in Cardiac Cath Lab +/- Interventional Radiography ,who is a proactive, self-motivated, and organized team member.
This modality operates weekdays with an urgent on-call component out of hours. The role will have time shared across Cardiac Cath Lab and the Interventional Radiology suite. Training, as required, will be provided.
You will be joining a team of around 60 MIT's: including CT (Computerized Tomography), General, MRI, NM, and Sonographers.

You will also have:
- NZ registration and a current annual practicing certificate or MRTB recognised overseas qualification with a current APC.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, team effectiveness, and the ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent time management skills, including initiative and flexibility.
