Ko te kaupapa | About the role

 

Te Whatu Ora, New Zealand Health Whanganui, serves a significant area incorporating Whanganui, Rangitikei, Ruapehu, Waimarino and Waiouru Wards. We currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced, suitably qualified, team focussed professional, to join our long-established team in Theatre Services.

Primarily this role provides patient centred care, ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients and Whanau and a multidisciplinary specialist, team to ensure successful outcomes.

This role requires high level communication abilities to effectively liaise at all levels. Demonstrating a confident, positive, resilient and supportive, manner, the successful candidate will enjoy working in a very precise, structured, challenging and planned environment and will ideally possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Relevant and current New Zealand health qualifications including an Annual Practicing Certificate, with the desire and commitment to continue a professional development programme.
  • Previous inside and outside theatre experience ideally, or a minimum of two years post-graduate knowledge in either General or Orthopaedic wards
  • Experience working independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for your actions, making critical decisions in challenging and complex situations
  • Sound organisational abilities to prioritise, delegate and meet required timelines
  • Basic computer literacy
