Ko te kaupapa | About the role
We have the opportunity for a motivated physiotherapist to join a dynamic and progressive team as our full-time Senior Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Physiotherapist.
This position provides clinical management, treatment and rehabilitation of adults with neurological and sub-acute conditions, including: stroke, Parkinson's, amputations etc. It is based on the Acute Stroke Unit (ASU)/Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (AT&R) ward including initiating early supported discharge community rehabilitation.
This role includes working closely with other MDT members and co-ordinating junior rotational physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and therapy assistants. It is also includes the monitoring and developing of best practice for this service.
This role will report to the Clinical Manager Physiotherapy

Our ideal candidate will have:
- New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist
- Ideally 5 years' experience as a physiotherapist with 2 years' experience working in the neurological area. However, consideration would be given for supporting a candidate into this senior specialist position (minimum 2 years' experience as a physiotherapist with some experience working in the neurological area).
- Enjoy working alongside other MDT members with a transdisciplinary team approach.
- Able to build strong relationships with the clients and whanau and community networks.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Good communicator, written and oral.
- Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
- Able to supervise students and junior rotational physiotherapists
- Cultural sensitivity
