Ko te kaupapa | About the role
We have the opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and progressive team as an inpatient rotational Occupational Therapist.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to work in our Occupational Therapy team, this role is predominantly a rotational inpatient role rotating through the main hospital wards including Medical, Surgical and ATR (stroke/rehab), with input into Paediatrics and Critical Care as required. This role is ideal for a new graduate Occupational Therapist, or an experienced Occupational Therapist with an interest in inpatient services.
We have a great team of Occupational Therapists with a wide variety of experience and skills. This job requires working closely with the other Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Therapy Assistants, as well as being a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management, adaptability and communication skills are essential for this role.
This role will report to the Clinical Manager Occupational Therapy

Our ideal candidate will have:
- You must be a qualified Occupational Therapist
- Enjoy working alongside other MDT members with a transdisciplinary team approach.
- Able to build strong relationships with the clients and whanau and community networks.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Good communicator, written and oral.
- Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
- Able to supervise students and junior rotational physiotherapists
- Cultural sensitivity
- Have experience or demonstrate potential for working in a hospital/DHB setting
- Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
- Physically fit and able to lift (as per patient handling guidelines)
- Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
- Hold a New Zealand Drivers License
