Ko te kaupapa | About the role
- This position works principally within the Paediatric Department and Maternity Ward. Services are delivered in both inpatient and outpatient settings including rural settings.
- To deliver safe and high quality Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Services in accordance with the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening standards and procedures.
- To provide administration and coordination assistance to the Newborn Hearing Screening coordinator's office
Ko koe tēnei | About you
- Have an ongoing commitment to the values of the organization and whanau centred care focus.
- A certificate of New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing with Newborn Hearing Screening strand is desirable but not necessary as you will be supported in achieving this within 12 months of commencement.
- The ability to complete additional training as required to fulfil the Newborn Hearing Screening Standards and Procedures.
- Computer literacy and experience working with/understanding of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, relevant tools
- Outstanding people and relationship skills with an ability to build rapport quickly; networking to maintain and develop effective working relationships
- Use verbal and written communication skills effectively, listens actively and shares relevant information
- Make the best use of time available, allocating the right time to the right activities, assigning priorities to tasks based on an understanding of importance and urgency requirements
- Accept full responsibility for self and contribution as a team member; display honesty and truthfulness; confronts problems quickly; displays a strong commitment to organisational success
- Uses initiative to identify what needs to be done and takes action to achieve standards of excellence beyond job expectations

- We will support you to achieve the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing with Newborn Hearing Screening strand within 12 months of commencement
- Training for office assistance/coordination will also be provided.
