Location: Hutt Valley Hospital
Service: Procedure Suite (multi-specialty)
Contract: 1 year fixed-term, full-time
Salary: $59,627 - $68,340
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The primary focus of the role is to assist in the smooth running of the Procedure Suite from an administrative perspective, including reception. As the first point of contact in the Procedure Suite, you will be responsible for greeting patients and their families, admitting patients in a timely manner (where required), discharging patients, arranging follow-up appointments as appropriate, managing patient records during their attendance, and other administrative duties as required. The role will provide general administrative support to the medical and nursing teams in the Procedure Suite.
The role may also include a component of waiting list management, including scheduling of surgeries and pre-operative appointments, which may involve liaising closely with patients and other members of the patient booking team. As time allows, you may be asked to support other related areas with their administrative workload (e.g. reception, bookings).
You will carry out your role in a way that shows courtesy, sensitivity and privacy in accordance with the Te Whatu Ora Guidelines.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our service
The newly built Procedure Suite provides daycare surgery for patients undergoing certain surgical procedures which do not require a general anaesthetic and can be performed safely outside of the main theatre environment. The Suite delivers surgical procedures for a number of different surgical specialties. Patients are admitted to the suite for their procedure, and then discharged on the same day.
Moū - About you
You will be a conscientious individual who is a team player and loves working with people. This is a front line role so you will be working to support our patients and their whanau, along with our clinical teams. As this is a new service in the hospital, you will need to be able to have a flexible approach to your work, covering core functions such as reception, but also adapting to provide additional areas of admin support as required by the team.
