Te Herenga Tangata is our Community Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health team including staff across a range of Allied Health disciplines, along with Nursing and Medical colleagues.
The Physiotherapist in this role will have the opportunity to see a broad range of people across both our Older Persons/Rehab ((OPRs) and our general Community streams. Within our OPRS stream, Physiotherapists provide rehabilitation for people post stroke, amputations, and other neurological/neurodegenerative conditions. They also see some more complex older adults. Our Community Physiotherapy stream see people with a wide range of conditions including falls risk in frail elderly, mobility limitations after medical events, recovery from joint surgery, and loss of function due to chronic health conditions.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
As we are a large Interdisciplinary team you will have access to Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses, Speech Language therapy, Dietitians, along with our medical and Community Nursing colleagues. Our service delivery models are evolving and will see us using inter-professional practice approaches and delegating more work to our skilled Allied Health and Rehab Assistants.
We are continuing to build relationships with Primary Health and a broad range of Government and Community providers which is already making it easier for our staff to provide timelier, effective and equity focused health services.
Te Herenga Tangata has recently become part of a single Community Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health group together with our Capital Coast colleagues increasing professional and career development opportunities for our staff. Within this position you will have access to clinical supervision, the support of the PT Professional leader, in-service and external training opportunities relevant to your role.
Moū - About you
If you are an experienced therapist with a particular special interest we are happy to discuss how we might accommodate this. Alternatively you may be newer to practice and interested in taking advantage of the extensive mentoring skills that exist within our Physio group.
Along with your direct practice, you - ll have the opportunity to be involved in or lead quality improvement work, both at a team and wider service level as we continue to develop our models.
We need someone with excellent communication and time-management skills, who enjoys working within a team, and is able to quickly develop positive relationships with a variety of hospital based and primary care professionals.
As the successful candidate you will be required to be an NZ Registered Physiotherapist with a current APC, drivers licence and experience relevant to the role. We provide an exciting and dynamic inter-disciplinary team environment, a diverse and rewarding caseload with a broad range of areas to develop into, regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development opportunities.
