Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are looking for a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), senior clinical pharmacist to join our collaborative hospital team.  This individual is excited about the visions we share at the Hutt Valley District Health Board and the future of our dynamic pharmacy profession.  We are keen for you to share your clinical knowledge and expertise with the rest of our growing team.

Your primary role as a senior clinical pharmacist will be to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a consultant-linked pharmacy services to a variety of specialised clinical areas that may include intensive care, paediatrics, and/or geriatrics.  The role includes participation in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings, medicines reconciliation, discharge counselling, dispensary services, mentoring, and promoting the safe and quality use of medicines.  You would be expected to provide high-quality, effective clinical pharmacy services with a focus on improving patient outcomes and ensuring optimal medicines utilisation.

As a pharmacy department, we have a strong clinical presence across all areas of the hospital and linkages into our diverse, local community.  We provide a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical care and extended roles to a variety of clinical areas.  We are a team of friendly and hard-working pharmacists and technicians, who are passionate about providing quality patient care, ensuring safe medications management, and championing the pharmacy professions. 

The pharmacy team is well respected by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management across the organisation.  We are always looking at ways to improve the service and care we deliver.

Moū - About you

If you are highly self-motivated, enjoy working with other health professionals, and can demonstrate effective teamwork and communication, then this role could be for you.  Candidates must have a current New Zealand APC in good standing, and at least four years of clinical experience.  Hospital pharmacy experience is required.
