Nurse Educator - fixed term

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse, practicing at EXPERT level, to join our ICU team as a Nurse Educator. This is a fixed term position until June 30th 2024.
The Intensive Care Unit at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is a 13-bedded combined ICU and HDU, catering for adult and paediatric patients across medical, surgical, orthopaedics, trauma and other specialties, with approximately 900 admissions per year.
In this role you will work closely with the permanent ICU Nurse Educator to support the service to ensure quality evidence-based services continue to be provided for our patients. You will also assist with the orientation of new staff and students to support them to become comfortable to grow their skills in their working environment, as well as supporting existing staff to reach their full potential. There are approximately 85 RNs currently working in our ICU.
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong interest in the professional development of staff working in the Critical Care setting.
- A strong clinical ICU background (PDRP Level 4 preferred), including relevant Post Graduate study.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organised with expertise in facilitation of training and education.
