If you are an experienced Registered Nurse who would enjoy the challenge of working in the community and schools with tamariki, rangatahi and their whanau then this could be the role for you! We are looking for someone to join us as a Public Health Nurse, working with schools and communities in Wairoa.

As a Public Health Nurse in Wairoa, will provide personal health and public services in communities including at educational facilities; Early Childhood Education Centres, Te Kohanga Reo, primary, secondary and intermediate schools. You will be responsible for communicable disease management and follow up work, nurse led clinics and delivery of immunisation programmes. There is a chance to really make a different as this role specifically addresses inequalities between Maori/Pacific children and other New Zealand children, in relation to sexual health, skin infections, rheumatic fever and resulting heart disease.

This role would suit someone who has previous experience in community nursing with knowledge of child and adolescent health, sexual health, mental health and the Treaty of Waitangi.

This is a great opportunity to work in an exciting and rewarding area of nursing, deliver public health nursing services to whanau and communities and to develop your career. You'll be working with an amazing team of clinical professionals who always strive to do their best for our patients and each other.

You will need an Annual Practicing Certificate and be competent to practice at least Level 2.

For more information, contact Dione Neri, Nurse Manager on 027 647 6671.
