Nurse Educator - COVID Workforce

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is seeking to employ an Immunisation Vaccinator supervisor to train and develop our new immunisation workforce. This is a critical role to ensure the successful training of Vaccinating Health Worker (VHW) and to ensure VHW practices safely at the workplace. You will provide professional, clinical direction and guidance for up to six vaccinators working under Supervision. This is an exciting new opportunity to train our new vaccinator workforce.
You will be working with the Mana Ora Mana Māori vaccination team to deliver and support and improve vaccination outcomes for our communities. We have a passionate team who work closely with our communities delivering an excellent vaccination service.
You will require knowledge of Māori Health and Pacific Health models and be able to actively integrate cultural safety into the delivery of care for our community.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- To be a registered health professional that has completed the IMAC online COVID-19 Vaccinator and COVID-19 Immunisation Register (CIR) training
- To be a fully authorised vaccinator or working towards this.
- At least 5 years of recent experience in healthcare or a health professional authorised to vaccinate with recent experience within a vaccination programme
- The ability to engage and work with providers to facilitate, support and deliver workforce training
- Ability to provide education and support to a high level
- Sensitivity to cultural customs beliefs and values
- Commitment to Treaty of Waitangi and equity
- The ability to use computer applications, including MS suite
- A full New Zealand Driver License as local/regional travel is required
