We are pleased to open applications for a Registrar in Psychiatry(Non-training position)/Senior House Officer (PGY3+) in our Mental Health and Addictions Department here at Gisborne Hospital, Tairāwhiti.

The Registrar in Psychiatry/SHO will be responsible for the delivery of mental health assessment and treatment of both hospital and community whanau and will be based at Gisborne Hospital.  

The Registrar in Psychiatry/SHO will work under specialist Psychiatrist supervision at all times. You will carry out outpatient clinics, ward work and on-calls with a specialist psychiatrist available to you at all times.

Our focus is on your learning. We have an educational program within the department and you are given dedicated non-clinical training time on your roster to help you achieve this.

Candidates applying for this position will need to hold Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) General Scope of Practice registration or be an overseas trained medical practitioner eligible for MCNZ Provisional General Scope of Practice registration. 

The remuneration range for this is covered by the collective agreement:
STONZ MECA or NZRDA MECA
