Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant | Burwood
- Start Date - As soon as possible.
- Hours 1 FTE (40 hours a week).
- Shifts - Monday to Sunday (rotating roster) Covering shifts of Kitchen Assistants or Catering Assistants annual leave, sickness or other operational needs. One must be flexible for days and hours. Our kitchen operates 7 days a week, with shifts between 6:30am to 7:30pm
- Status - Permanent.
- Location - Travis Caf , Burwood Hospital, Burwood, Christchurch.
- Salary - Starting from $23.75 per hour, Based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.

Have you ever thought of working in a commercial kitchen?
Join our dedicated and hard-working WellFood Department and help feed our tūroro (patients) and whānau.
This role is a floating position of Kitchen Assistant and Catering Assistant.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out the general kitchen and ward duties which will include washing dishes and preparing and presenting food.
- Provide great customer service to our tūroro (patients) and their whānau.
- Delivering the meal and beverage service to patients in their wards,
- Assisting patients to understand and select menu options,
- Assembling meal trays and delivering these to the wards all whilst providing excellent customer service to our patients and their whānau,
- Maintaining a safe work environment.

- Exceptional skill and passion for food and coffee.
- Experience in cash management and till operations.
- Food handling experience desirable but not essential
- Great barista skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life.
- A friendly, positive attitude with the ability to maintain speed without compromising standards.
- Reliable with good time management.
- Flexible approach and a - can do - attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Have previous experience in a similar environment.
