Registered Nurse - Medical Day Stay Unit

He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and progressive Registered Nurse to join our Medical Day Stay Unit at Tauranga Hospital in the Bay of Plenty. The unit delivers care to patients booked for ambulatory, day stay and endoscopy procedures.  We provide a Monday – Friday service between the hours of 0700 – 18:00. We have a fixed term (6 month) part time position (0.6 FTE) available for the successful candidate. 

The unit operates a 24/7 out of hour's acute endoscopy service hence the registered nurse is required to participate in an on-call rota after being comprehensively trained in the skills and knowledge required. A valid NZ drivers licence registered personal vehicle and a commute within a 20 minute radius from the hospital is a prerequisite to this job.

He Korero mōu - About You

Our preferred applicants require broad knowledge, skills and experience in endoscopy and ambulatory medical day stay services to meet the requirements for this position. Your skills and experience in pre and post-care are pertinent to this role. Ideally, you will have the ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a busy and productive team environment, be available to work flexible hours and have the appropriate clinical skills.

Consideration is also given to experienced hospital nurses who are looking to progress their careers in Medical Day Stay. You will be joining a high functioning team that delivers a variety of services including Day Infusions, endoscopy, bronchoscopy and radiological procedures. We have an in-house training programme that will guide you from novice to expert MDSU nurse
