Paediatric Registrars - Tauranga Hospital

In line with the National Recruitment Programme, we are keen to hear from Registrars looking for a new opportunity commencing January 2024 through to January 2025, as an ENT Registrar.
The Paediatric Registrar positions are accredited for Basic Training in General Paediatrics by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
He kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Paediatric Department offers eight Paediatric Registrar positions. These are suitable for Paediatric trainees with at least six months of Paediatric experience. Previous Neonatal experience is desirable but not essential. Our positions are accredited for up to two years of Basic Training with the RACP. They are also suitable for advanced trainees in specialties needing Paediatric experience, such as Emergency Medicine or Anaesthesia.
The Paediatric Department is a busy supportive department of 13 SMO's and 2 Fellows on the consultant roster. We provide an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience in managing a wide range of acute Paediatric presentations. We have an active education programme.
Tauranga Hospital has a 22 bed General Paediatric ward, a 4 bed Paediatric Day Stay Unit, and a 12 bed level 2 Neonatal Unit. Registrars are rostered in supervised outpatient clinics, and are on an 8 person roster that includes day shifts, evenings, long days and nights with a 1:8 frequency.
4 SHO positions are also available for those with no prior Paediatric experience. Registrars help provide supervision to SHO's along with the consultant Paediatric staff (See separate advertisement for the SHO position)
