Mō te tūranga - About the role
Whakatāne Hospital has recently undergone a shift review and is looking to recruit enthusiastic Medical Radiation Technologists (MIT) to work in our friendly Radiology Department, which is a small but busy general hospital serving the widely dispersed Eastern Bay of Plenty area.
The positions would suit experienced MITs, or final year students about to graduate.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in the out-of-hours roster as well as to be prepared to work rostered duties which include weekend and public holiday dayshifts, evening and night shifts.
The department has 2 general radiology rooms, a CT scanner and 2 Ultrasound rooms.
CT experience is not essential as training will be given.

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate or have applied for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiations Technologists Board
- Experienced, approachable, and professional with a team-based approach
- A natural affinity for relationship building with both patients and staff alike
- Be a team player through and through, with refined communication skills
