He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Hand Therapy Team at Tauranga Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, with Hand Therapy experience to join us. This is a casual role primarily based at Tauranga Hospital however there may be the opportunity to work in satellite locations at times. You will be well supported, working with a team of fully registered Hand Therapists who value continued professional development, mentoring, supervision, and ongoing training. The current hand therapy is a very close knit and dynamic team who offer each other collateral support.
As a member of the Hand Therapy Team, you will have the opportunity to provide care for both ACC and non-ACC patients. The clinical caseload includes the treatment of surgical cases (both traumatic and elective) as well as non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions, burns and scars, neurological and paediatric upper limb conditions. Referrals are accepted from Allied Health (community and hospital-based), GPs and Rheumatology services and treatment is at no cost to the patient.
He Korero mōu - About You
You will be a New Zealand registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with a current annual practicing certificate. Ideally you would be a member of Hand Therapy New Zealand either as an associate or registered hand therapist or have comparable international qualifications. You will have excellent clinical and problem-solving skills and an ability to communicate effectively with health professionals, health agencies, tangata whaiora/ clients and whānau.
