He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

The Nurse Leader Eastern Bay of Plenty is an important new role at Te Whatu Ora – Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty where you will be an integral member of the senior nursing leadership team across the district.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer Toi Ora (or their delegate), you will provide expert nursing leadership across the senior nursing team (Chief Nursing Officers and Nurse Leaders) for the achievement of strategic priorities directly relevant to Whakatāne hospital and Eastern Bay of Plenty populations. You will also provide nursing direction to a cluster of senior nurses based at Whakatāne Hospital and senior nurses who manage or deliver care across whole of district services including renal, diabetes and faster cancer treatment services.

As the Nurse Leader Eastern Bay of Plenty you will champion Toi Ora competent nursing practice and health equity for Māori.

He korero mōu - About You

You are a Senior Nursing Clinician with significant experience in a large complex health care organisation in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Your practice experience demonstrates commitment to the provision of a quality service demonstrated by advanced knowledge and experience with acute and or elective nursing services.

You have a deep understanding of the Eastern Bay community and demonstrated ability to build relationships with Mana Whenua.  You have deep knowledge of the articles and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a sound knowledge and experience of Māori models and frameworks of health care.
