He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse with relevant experience to join the Tauranga Peritoneal Dialysis Nursing team – Renal Service.

This position is a permanent 0.9 FTE working 36 hours per week and will be available from January 2023.

The Speciality Clinical Nurse role is to provide specialised client centred care, education and advice to enable patients with chronic renal failure to optimize renal function (ESRF) and manage renal replacement therapy (PD).

The Specialty Clinical Nurse contributes to equity of access to care and navigation of the care pathway. You will be partnering with other health professionals, which ensures safe and evidenced based delivery of care for patients within the Bay of Plenty district.

The patient and whānau are at the centre of the model of care:

  • Providing clinical expertise and contributing to the advancement of professional knowledge and skills using evidence-based practice
  • Ensures equity of access to the specialty nursing service
  • Support to patients and families/whānau to assist them in understanding and participating in treatment choices and ongoing health care needs
  • Able to travel within the Bay of Plenty district

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant and diverse experience in a range of acute nursing setting with a focus on long-term conditions and/or renal disease
  • Active involvement in the development, provision and evaluation of educational programmes for other health professionals
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application of research findings to support evidence based practice
