He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are looking for an Allied Health Assistant who can bring enthusiasm, resilience and “can do attitude” to the Sleep Service which is part of the Allied Health Scientific and Technical workforce. This is a full time role working across both Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals.
The duties include, but not limited to, telephone communication with patients, troubleshooting equipment issues, assisting physiologists on daily tasks and general admin and housekeeping. The service supports telemedicine therefore this role pertains to reduced patient contact. We are a small and passionate team with close, supportive working relationships with other health professionals.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Competent in Excel and computer applications
- Confident in data base entries
- Attention to detail is essential
- A team player with strong organisational and time management skills
- Adaptable, open to change and able to relate well to people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
- Able to utilise their initiative to help support the work of our physiologists
- Willingness to increase skill mix and knowledge
- Hold relevant residency status to work in New Zealand
- A full driver's license (manual and automatic) is a requirement as the role requires working across both hospitals
