Security Officer - Whakatane Hospital

About the Role
The security service is seeking to employ casual security officers to cover when required. The service operate a 24/7 roster so you must be available for any type of shift when required.
This role is covered by the Etu Service Food Workers Unio Multi-Employer Collective Agreement. The hourly rate for this position is $28.40 to $31.93.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The security service at Whakatane Hospital is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors. This service is highly regarded and you will be working in a close knit team.
About you
- Security and customer service experience
- Physically fit and reliable
- Full & Clean Drivers licence is essential
- High level of personal presentation
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
Preference is for you to have a minimum NZQA Level 3 security qualification or evidence of working towards obtaining this qualification, In addition to this, you will have excellent written skills.
You will be expected to make difficult decisions on the spot and at times work in isolation and as a team member.
