Consultant Psychiatrist - Perinatal Mental Health

Tauranga is New Zealand's fastest growing city and as a result it is time for us to grow our team of Psychiatrists so we can continue to provide a high level of care. We currently have a permanent position available in our Perinatal Infant Maternal Mental Health team.
This role will provide specialist input in the area of Perinatal Infant Maternal Mental Health, working in the multi-disciplinary community based within Maternal, Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health service (MICAMHS). The MICAMHS Service is delivered by two teams, one of which services the Western BOP and the other providing service for the Eastern BOP.
The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health team forms one of four sub-teams in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health team is comprised of a psychiatrist, psychologist, nurses and social workers who work together in delivering a comprehensive service to mothers, infants and their family/whānau from conception until one year postpartum. Typical client presentations might include perinatal mood disorders, perinatal anxiety disorders, perinatal OCD, postpartum psychosis, complex PTSD, PTSD and birth trauma, adjustment disorders, pregnancy after prior stillbirth/neonatal loss, navigating the perinatal period with autism and/or ADHD, and difficulties with bonding.
This is a permanent 0.3FTE position, working 28 hours per fortnight.

Criteria for this position:
- You need to be a Vocationally Registered Psychiatrist with the Medical Council of NZ or be eligible for this.
- Have fellowship with the RANZCP or the equivalent is essential.
- A passion for supporting women and pregnant people through this important life stage, and someone who enjoys teaching and training others in this area.
