Tauranga Hospital is a 326 bed Upper Secondary hospital serving a population base of 220,000 people. Situated in the sunny eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island, the Bay of Plenty really is just that, offering vast golden sand beaches, bush clad mountains, lush farmlands and more. Its pleasant climate means that the area has become a favourite for holiday makers, retirees and those looking for a different lifestyle outside of the main cities.
The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. The BOPDHB is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.
He kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
There are two O & G registrar core trainee positions to which trainees are allocated by the New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There is also one position available for a senior advanced trainee. There are six non-training Registrar positions available.
There are four Senior House Officer positions for which attachments can be of three month or six month duration. RMOs completing six month attachments are eligible to complete the O & G Diploma.
There are eight x Consultant Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
All positions are based at Tauranga Hospital and the period for trainees is six months, non-trainees for 12 months.
