(0.9 FTE, full-time may be considered)
- Exciting Leadership opportunity
- Supportive team
Would you like to provide direct clinical care and improve outcomes for patients, all whilst living in one of the most liveable cities in the world? Waitematā District is a major provider of healthcare services in North and West Auckland, serving a population of approximately 640,000 people and employing more than 8,400 people.
As Clinical Director of this dynamic service, you will be supported by a team of dedicated and collegial SMOs and together you will work to develop the strategic direction and vision for the Older Adults Service, including a robust clinical governance structure.
A key component of the implementation will be leading and developing the clinical excellence and performance measures and the continuous quality improvement programme for the geriatric service.
If experienced in acute stroke management, you will have the option of working with acute stroke patients in the integrated stroke unit where stroke rehabilitation is also delivered. The position will also include regular outpatient clinics in addition to your ward work.
Auckland, New Zealand consistently ranks as one of the world’s most liveable cities. The natural environment and subtropical climate, stable political and social environment, and a comprehensive publicly funded health system were the top three contributing factors for Auckland achieving this spot in the rankings.
Auckland is also famous for its easy access to beaches and bush walks, along with numerous high quality restaurants and wineries.
In return, you will be given a wonderful opportunity to work in a supportive environment with many opportunities to grow and develop your skills.
The successful candidate will be registered (or registrable) with the New Zealand Medical Council and if you are from overseas or outside Auckland, our global mobility service will help with the logistics of immigration and relocation, to make your move as smooth as possible.
