Pregnancy and Parental Clinician - CADS

Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland are looking for full time clinicians to work in our Pregnancy and Parental service based in Pt. Chevalier, Auckland
About us
CADS are the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand working with over 15000 people each year. CADS provide free community and inpatient AOD treatment from a number of locations across Auckland. CADS are committed to empowering the community to reduce the harm associated with substance use discover healthier use of substances (harm minimisation) and to promote recovery and wellbeing.
About the team
PPS is a multidisciplinary team, consisting of AOD clinicians, social workers, midwives, psychologists and psychiatrist allied, nursing and medical staff who provide a mobile, outreach service for people who are:
- Pregnant and/or parenting children under 3 years of age, regardless of custody issues:
- with harmful use of alcohol and/or other drugs who experience concerns with substance use, and are disconnected from health and/or social services.
- You would be working in a well-supported team where you will develop expertise specific to women struggling parents experiencing the above issues as well as their children and their families. whanau.
- This is an opportunity to get be involved in evidence based early intervention which addresses the needs of those children’s parents and children, and strengthens the family environment utilising client led strength based goal planning. This is a case management/key working role which includes, but is not limited to; assertive outreach, advocacy, service co-ordination, risk management and working within harm minimisation reduction and recovery model.
About you
Essential
A sense of social justice and commitment to working with people from a biopsychosocial approach in all their complexity is required. You will have a non-judgemental attitude, excellent engagement and communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously and within a team. You will also have:
- Full registration
- Full, clean drivers licence
- Legal right to work in NZ
- Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work
Preferred
- Clinical experience in the mental health and/or addiction field.
- Comfortable working with other health and social service providers including Family Start, Oranga Tamariki, Kainga Ora and other community based NGO’s
- Lived experience as a consumer or whanau member
