We’re looking for a highly motivated, independent practitioner with lots of energy, an outstanding communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly with any individual or group and be effective working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
This opportunity is for a Permanent Full Time position (1 FTE) working with the Inpatient and Community Services of Waitematā DHB. The position is based at North Shore and may provide services across the Waitematā catchment area.
The successful candidate will be patient and family/whānau-centred in their approach and have excellent social work and counselling skills. Experience working with Māori patients in a hospital setting as well as experience working in the community will be preferred.
The successful candidate will also have experience working with grief and loss, crisis intervention, complex problem solving and emotional support. You will be an effective communicator and key member of dynamic multidisciplinary teams. You will also have the opportunity to provide consultation to the multi-disciplinary teams on how to incorporate Social Work principles and the Māori Model of care into patient care to enhance clinical outcomes for Māori patients and their whānau.
You must hold a bachelor of Social Work degree and be registered with the New Zealand SWRB, or equivalent overseas registration and be committed to working towards NZ registration. Membership of ANZASW r Tangata Whenua Social Workers Association is preferred.
