Alcohol and Drug Clinician - CADS Abstinence Programme

Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland are looking for two part time (0.6 FTE) registered AOD clinician to work in our CADS Abstinence Programme based in Pt Chevalier
CADS are the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand working with over 15000 people each year. CADS provide free community and inpatient AOD treatment from a number of locations across Auckland. CADS are committed to empowering the community to discover healthier use of substances (harm minimisation) and to promote recovery and wellbeing.
The CADS Abstinence Programme (CAP) is a small team of dedicated professionals who put recovery at the forefront. CAP offers applicants the exciting opportunity to work in a long term intensive programme that encourages abstinence through engagement with the 12 step fellowship and traditional IOP components such as setting boundaries, learning communication skills, and developing new, lifelong strategies. It offers both group and 1-1 counselling support over a 2 year period.
Essential
- Relevant three year tertiary qualification and professional registration.
- Therapeutic work specialising in group based and abstinence focussed interventions
- Knowledge of the concepts and implications of the Harm Reduction model, and willingness to work within this framework.
- Proven skills in clinical assessment, treatment planning and goal setting.
- Ability to develop and implement treatment plans in line with client goals.
- Experience in counselling and group work.
- The ability to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective networks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Full registration with professional body (dapaanz , nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields)
- Full, clean drivers licence
- Legal right to work in NZ
- Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work
- Ability to facilitate evening groups
Preferred
- Knowledge of 12 step group facilitation would be an advantage.
- Significant experience and/or training in the alcohol and drug field.
- Relevant postgraduate health or education related tertiary qualification.
- Lived experience as a consumer or whanau member
- Experience in group facilitation
